Our History
Pertama Tennis was founded by Head Coach Thaha in 2011. Prior to the start of Pertama Tennis, Coach Thaha picked up his coaching skills by coaching his one and only student back then, Harun Hamzah. Under his guidance, Harun Hamzah won many competitions, local and abroad, as well as captaining his primary and secondary schools. Under his guidance too, Harun Hamzah went as far as representing the National team in the ITF Asia 14 & Under Development Championships and ATF Asian 14 – Under Series.
The success of Harun Hamzah acts as a catalyst for the formation of Pertama Tennis in 2011. Since then, Pertama Tennis has grown by leaps and bounds. The number of students enrolled with Pertama kept on growing together with the number of coaches under their wings. Pertama’s coaching services also expanded from coaching at condominiums and public courts to providing lessons for guests at local hotels.
Achievements of the students also started to expand. Some of them went on to represent theirs respective school and some won some of the local tournaments.
